BABY’S LEARNING SPACE
Staffing: 2 Early Childhood Educators to 8 children – Ages: 6 weeks to 2 years
Cherubs Babies room offers high quality carer to child ratios and experienced and qualified staff, allowing the best care possible for your baby. Cherub’s babies are loved and nurtured in a warm homely environment. Educators work longer shifts to ensure a familiar face is present between 7:30-5:30pm.
Our Educators focus on meeting your babies individual care needs, by following the routines you have in place at home. This builds a sense of security and allows Cherubs to become ‘a home away from home’ for your baby and your family. Daily sheets are filled in and used as a form of communication between families and Educators. This allows routines to be flexible to your babies daily needs.
Cherubs Baby’s Educators provide a stimulating learning environment for your baby to explore, featuring a private outdoor yard, a separate sleep room and an intimate play room that allows the babies and carers to remain in each other’s view at all times. This environment promotes security and exploration and allows our babies to play happily knowing their carers are always nearby.
Cherubs’ early learning programs ensure that each baby’s strengths and interests are observed and extended upon through planning individual experiences for each child. Cherubs Babies room works in conjunction with families to provide the highest quality care and attention, plus maximum learning opportunities for your precious baby.
TODDLER’S LEARNING SPACE
Staffing: 3 Early Childhood Educators to 14 children – Ages: 18 months to 3 years
Cherubs Toddler’s room is a fun, safe and secure learning environment for your toddler to explore. Cherubs Early Childhood Educators are responsive to the children, ensuring that our Toddler program is flexible to the daily needs of each child. This type of responsive practice allows us to meet the individual and group needs of our toddlers, ensuring a sense of security and belonging.
Cherubs Toddlers’ learning environment is designed to allow your toddler the freedom to discover the many wonderful educational experiences provided. Singing, dancing, games and stories are always on offer and our ‘play areas’ promote small group play and encourage social interaction between our toddlers. The Toddler’s learning space has its own outside area allowing for indoor/outdoor play. Cherubs Early Childhood Educators support play and promote learning through being there with the children, involved in their activities and ready to lend a hand when needed. Families are given many opportunities to communicate with Educators about their child’s education and development. Daily communication sheets are kept to inform families of their child’s participation in daily routine.

KINDY LEARNING SPACE
Staffing: 2 Early Childhood Educators to 16 children – Ages: 3 years to 4 years
Cherubs Kindy room provides a unique learning opportunity for your Kindy child. Our program focuses on social and emotional learning as well as building a strong base of skills in language, literacy and numeracy, ready to extend upon in preschool.
The Kindy room offers a fun, play based learning program that adopts a sense of discovery and adventure in children’s learning. Our Kindy children engage in activities such as learning projects and exploring the natural environment, learning about our community and learning about diversity, inclusion and social learning; being a kind friend. These activities extend on each child’s existing skills and will develop self confidence as well as fostering a positive self esteem. As part of the Kindy program the children are able to join the Little Big Sports soccer program on a Wednesday, teaching coordination, balance, turn taking as well as being fun.

The Kindy room works in conjunction with families to provide the highest quality care as well as maximum learning opportunities for your Kindy child throughout the year as well as in preparation for preschool.
PRESCHOOL LEARNING SPACE
Staffing: 2 Early Childhood Educators to 20 Children – Ages: 4yrs to 6yrs
Cherub’s Preschool room takes your child a step above, by providing excellence in preschool education. With a strong focus on early Literacy, Science, Numeracy skills, the preschool program provides opportunities for your child to learn through a fun, play based and educational program which is based on the Early Years Learning Framework, National Quality Standards. We incorporate the NSW healthy eating and exercise program Munch and Move. The Preschool children participate in a fundamental sports program two days a week. These days rotate each term to ensure all children have exposure to this physical movement program. The sports program occurs no additional cost to families. The Preschool children are able to join a Little Big sports soccer program on a Wednesday.
Effective social skills and a sense of well-being are also instrumental to our Cherubs Preschool Program. Our Preschoolers learn and practice the ‘social competencies’ which are skills that will serve them well throughout their schooling and life.
Cherub’s Early Childhood specialist Teachers, use the techniques of ‘intentional teaching’ and ‘incidental learning’ to ensure each child is well prepared for primary school. Our preschoolers become excited about learning, and are encouraged to investigate, problem solve, experiment, persist and practise. This builds a sense of self confidence and self esteem and provides many opportunities to for children to experience rich social interaction and to build cooperative skills. The Preschool children are given opportunities to explore their local environment with a close affiliation with the Freedom Aged on Sexton’s Hill. The Preschool curriculum incorporates excursions and incursions throughout the year to enhance learning opportunities.
Our goal is to ensure that each child experiences a smooth and happy transition to the beginning of their formal education. Our preschool class visits the Banora Point Primary School regularly throughout the year to interact, to attend special events, to meet with Kindergarten classes and to talk to the Teachers and for all Orientation sessions offered by the school. Cherubs has a strong affiliation with other neighbourhood schools and transitions all children into kindergarten with thorough transition reports and conversations with teachers.
Cherubs’ Preschool program ensures that each Preschooler’s strengths and interests are observed and extended upon through planning individual experiences for each child. Educators works closely with families to incorporate family goals into their program. Cherubs Preschool Educators work in conjunction with families to provide the highest quality care and individual attention to your child’s learning. Cherub’s Preschool provides maximum learning opportunities for your preschooler in their year before entering formal education at Primary School. We aim to instil a ‘love of learning’ in your preschool child.
