Cherubs Early Learning Centre.
Cherubs Early Learning Centre is a privately owned and operated long day care centre and preschool, located high on the hill at Banora Point, in Pioneer Parade. Its close proximity to the Banora Point Primary School (across the road) and other local Primary schools allows it to provide an extensive transition process for the children in our Preschool group to starting school.
Cherubs prides itself on being a natural, calming and homely oriented centre. The wood finishes throughout lend the centre to be visually warming, inviting and aesthetically comforting.
Educators have a strong rapport with families and celebrate the major role that families play in supporting their children in the transition to care process. Educators value the contributions of families to the centre and encourage all families to enjoy the many social/educational experiences throughout the year.
Cherubs is seen as an extension of a child’s family, apart of their village, that supports the uniqueness of young children coming together to learn. Cherubs educators are qualified and experienced and work closely with external agencies to ensure inclusive practice and the educational requirements of all Cherubs children are fulfilled.
Our learning environments are designed to allow children to make connections to their natural environment; whilst providing a variety of learning areas for children to strengthen their sense of belonging.
Cherubs children are celebrated as unique and successful individuals who are guided by educators in becoming extended competent independent learners.
Our learning environments have a strong emphasis on the importance of play as the best means of learning for children where educator’s co construct learning. Our educational program incorporates the principles and practices of “Being, Belonging & Becoming” the Early Years Learning Framework, whilst incorporating the healthy teachings of the Munch and Move program.
Cherubs prides itself on its relationship with local community and it supports many charities throughout the year. Our curriculum incorporates an awareness of culture, festivals and outside programs. Children participate in incursions and excursions and all families are welcome at these events. Cherubs has a strong partnership with Freedom Aged care at Sexton Hill. Educators recognise the importance of interactions between older and younger generations. Throughout the year the children interact with the residents engaging in a variety of beneficial experiences.
